It is up to 90 metre deep and 320 square kilometre wide. Kailash Parbat is located at the north of this holy lake. This lake has been endowed with Shiva’s blessings and is believed to wash away all the sins of the devotees who come to take a dip in its holy water and it also fills them with devotional energy.

 

Every year thousands of people undergo the very popular and very difficult journey to the Mount Kailash under the name of ‘Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.’ This yatra is usually held between the months of June and September. The route is apparently the toughest and is full of extreme conditions.
